LogiTrack Systems Inc. (https://logitrack.ca) is seeking a sharp minded, forward thinking, individual who desires to be part of our progressive and growing organization.
We are offering a Field Service/Computer Technician position for providing service and support to our business clientele in and around The Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.

Individual must have a reliable vehicle and clean class 5 driving record. This is a very diverse position (Hardware and Software) and best suites technically inclined people who take pride in their work, always striving towards excellence. The desired candidate will be image conscious, great with customers with excellent written and spoken English. There is the possibility of out of town travel at times.

This is a mid level position on our support team providing technical support to our business clients both remotely and at the clients location. Duties include: installing and supporting desktop hardware, software, and peripherals; installing and supporting network equipment and servers; cabling, performing physical maintenance on client equipment, maintaining client documentation; building relationships with our clients’ staff and ensuring they receive the best possible experience.

Although certifications are an asset, they are not required as we will work with you to develop your skills and obtain industry leading certifications, and build a foundation of knowledge and skills in areas such as servers, virtualization, networking and security.

The position involves daily travel throughout the lower mainland and will not involve multi-day trips. Compensation can be salary based or contract and has working hours typically Monday to Friday, with some weekend work. This position has a start date of Feb 1, 2018.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Travel to customers in the Lower Mainland region and work with our customers in setup up of new and the upgrading of existing networks including Wireless Access Points, managed switches, printers, Windows 2008/2012 Servers, Windows Mobile Software, Active Directory (including internal and external DNS), virtualization technologies, as well as other solutions.
  • Professionally communicate technical solutions for their IT issues and where possible, resolve those issues while onsite with the customer.
  • Work remotely using a variety of remote access protocols to resolve problems
  • On Call availability for emergency support calls
  • Servicing of Inkjet Printers, Direct Thermal & Thermal Transfer Printers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong written and verbal command of the English language
  • Certification(s) from Microsoft, Cisco, a recognized technical college or university an asset
  • Related job experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems
  • Strong experience with networking, firewalls and routers, Wireless Access Points
  • A self starter with a sense of urgency to complete tasks and assignments
  • Ability to diffuse tense customer situations and project a positive, confident outlook
  • High level of integrity and honesty
  • Ability to take direction and follow practices and procedures consistently and accurately
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

ABOUT YOU:

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Must have a keen eye for detail
  • Diploma or Bachelor Degree related to Systems Administration or at least 2 years of relevant technical support experience
  • Reliable vehicle, and clean driving record (with valid BC license)
